“We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is
to sail or to watch, we are going back from whence we came.” —John F.

Although petite-sized, the gift shop is packed with a wide range of gifts, including glass whale trinkets, dolphin socks, whale ties, seashell cocktail stirrers, shark tooth jewelry, scrimshaw harmonicas, and kits to build pirate ships.
Kid-friendly items are reasonably priced (most items are 50 cents to $5), such as a whale toys, a boatswain’s whistle, small ship-in-a-bottles, ship models, and historical toys such as Jacob's Ladder. Special effort is made to offer objects that are both appealing and affordable for younger visitors as well as more elaborate gifts for adults. The shop carries a line of Barlow™ simulated scrimshaw pieces which make attractive gifts, especially as holiday ornaments.
During the holiday season, check out our display of handmade boat ornaments.
