Did you know that after farming, whaling was the first industry on Long Island? Whaling played a crucial role in the local and US economy for years -- and yes, whaling has powerful lessons for deciding how we want to see our future take shape. Our programs use our historic collection in meaningful and timely ways, and we are so thankful for donations that support of mission of conservation.
Welcome New Members: Jackie Babyak & Family
We learned about Fun Fridays this summer when we attended one of your Shark Week programs. After spending three out of four Fridays in August at the museum, we decided to become members. My son absolutely LOVES all of the cool arts and crafts projects, which are proudly displayed in his room. We love supporting a cause that works to educate the public and preserve an important part of Long Island history.
The Whaling Museum is a great place to spend quality time in a kid-centered, family friendly environment. Thanks for all of the great programs you offer and the wonderful work you do!
