SCRIMSHAW Reproduction

Scrimshaw is a very old form of maritime folk art dating back to the early 1800s. Sailors sepnt years at sea pursuing whales for their meat, oil & baleen. In their idle time whalers woud fashion fine art onto the teeth and bones of the whale, presenting the small masterpieces as gifts upon their return. Our productions are made of resin, cas, inked, antiqued and finished entirely by hand!
