is there an expected financial commitment for board members?
Yes. One of the roles and responsibilities of a nonprofit board is securing resources. Board members of any non-profit organization are expected to actively participate in the museum's fundraising efforts.
As with any organizational board, trustees are asked to make a personally significant contribution annually to the museum. The annual amount of $2,500 give-or-get is suggested. This can be a gift toward the annual appeal, participation in the museum's fundraiser, or sponsoring a museum event.
Each board member should make the museum a personal philanthropic priority. At the same time, we realize that not all board members might be able to contribute equally. We encourage each member to support the museum generously according to their individual means.
Other ways to support include inviting gifts from other community members, introducing personal and professional networks to the museum, attending museum events, and bringing guests to events.
