Also on exhibit:
"Museums should be places where you raise questions, not just show stuff.”
"Shinnecock Artists & Long Island's First Whalers" explores the little-known but significant aspects of whales for the Shinnecock Nation.
The exhibit and related programming combine historical pieces with contemporary artwork to explore Shinnecock perspectives on whales, as well as the history of Native involvement in the commercial whaling industry.
Join our Director in exploring diverse topics in whaling through informative audio clips which complement museum exhibits. Hear them on your phone at the exhibit, or anywhere.
